COACH: Darren
Minami
| Darren enters his 5th year
as varsity coach and 10th year as a
Reedley High Pirate basketball coach. Coach Minami
led the 2003-2004 Pirates to the school's first
Division II Section Championship since 1966 and
along the way, set the school record for wins with
25. Darren has compiled a record of 62-46 over the
past 4 years and was named the NYL Coach of the
Year in 2003 & 2004 as well as the 2004 Fresno
Bee and CVPreps coach of the year.

ASSISTANT
COACH: Barry
Warmerdam
| Barry
specializes on the defensive side of the ball as
well as bringing a wealth of overall basketball
knowledge and experience. He was formerly
the varsity coach at RHS; he has coached the
Reedley College Men and Women’s program, as well
as other high schools in the valley. Barry was
actually coach Minami’s Varsity coach when he
played for Reedley High. He rejoined the staff
when coach Minami took over the Varsity squad in
2001. Barry is married to Kathy. They have 4 grown
children: Nathan, Steve, Beth and Jacob. |

ASSISTANT
COACH: Jorge
Delport
Jorge
specializes on the offensive side of the ball and
player development. He also brings a great deal of
experience as a player as he was one of the best
guards of his time from
Reedley
High
School
,
graduating in 1988.
Jorge is entering his 6th season as a Varsity
Assistant. He is also actively involved in the
Pirate Small Ball program (5th-8thgraders). Jorge
is married to Renee and they have a 3 year old
daughter Abby, and recently added another member
to their family Pierce on November 17th. |
