March '04 Season Update
March '04 From the Coach
March '04 From the Players

Entering my third year as Varsity Boys Basketball Coach I am eager to get this campaign on its way. We are returning an experienced, skilled, and hungry nucleus from last year’s 18-9 (8-2) team and have worked hard this off-season to improve. Returning starters from last year’s squad are 1st Team All-NYL guard Jon Wallen, 2nd Team ALL-NYL guard Jon Lepp, as well as versatile guard Colin Hofer. Returning lettermen are forwards Pepijn Dekker, Ian Brinkman, Jose Alvarez, and guard Jordan Penner.

I have been extremely lucky as a head coach to have such a dedicated coaching staff particularly the three who have been developing this program along with me from the start: Tony Fernandez, Jorge Delport, and Barry Warmerdam. We are pleased to be adding Neil Fudge this year as our freshman coach whom I believe will fit right in and challenge all of our work ethics. I would like to thank them for the knowledge and dedication with which they provide Reedley basketball players.

While we had a successful year last year on the basketball court our ideals have not changed from day 1. Our student-athletes must succeed in the classroom before they can succeed on the court. Our athletes must adhere to the rules that we administer which we see fit in developing discipline, teamwork, and physical and mental growth. Our athletes must present a high standard of sportsmanship on and off the court as they know that their actions reflect not only themselves, but our team, the coaching staff, our school, and our community.

I hope you come out and support the boys basketball team. The coaching staff and players have and will work hard to produce an entertaining and well executing style of basketball.
