FROM THE PLAYERS

March 2004

Running out from the locker room, gazing upon the standing room only crowd, as we get ready to do battle for a

championship. There is nothing more exciting. We joked about just running around the court and back into the

locker room. You guys, the community, brought energy and passion to the gymnasium, unlike anything we could have dreamed of. We could feel it pulsating in the air; and we knew that we could not lose. To say you helped us get as far as we did is an understatement. You were a wave we rode to victory, and a wall the opposing team crashed into. Who wanted to come to Reedley? NO ONE! We received many compliments, but all teams that came to Reedley complimented the fans, and we always agreed.

Down 12 to East Bakersfield, down 4 to Sunnyside with a minute and a half to go, you never gave up on us, you

only pushed us harder and harder to victory. Even against Villa Park, despite the fact that we couldn't hit a shot to save our lives, you were all there until the very last second; and that is something we appreciated deeply. After our victories we thought we had won a NBA championship. We joked that Mrs. Furlong was going to bring fireworks to the next game. To quote Jon Wallen, "It was an awesome, indescribable feeling," and the community created that for us. You were more than a so-called 6th man, but were able to bring the excitement and energy that allowed all of us to live out a dream. Something amazing in life that we, without a doubt, could not have done without you.

So from the whole team, we sincerely appreciate your support; we will never forget it.
